Fauna

There is a wide and diverse array of fauna to be found on Lesvos other than the birdlife.

Be a bit careful, as they include scorpions and a number of snakes including Ottoman and Montpellier which are poisonous. The later seem quite numerous, and can get pretty big!

Mammals’ include Persian Squirrels that can be found among the fig groves as well as Beach Martins, which, unless have a bit of luck, tend to be more often found as road kill.

There is also significant number of butterfly and moth species to be found too.
